With all the rain we have been getting recently, the herbs in our garden have been growing like crazy! Along with the Fall, this time of the year has to be my favorite. From buying a pack of seeds to be put in the ground, to watching them grow and finally to be picked for preserving for our meals. Over the course of the growing season, I would like to share some ways to preserve your vegetables and how to cook them in your meals. Growing herbs is so easy and many have asked me why not just buy them at the grocery store? Well, I have noticed how much preservatives are in the herbs at the grocery store and I like knowing what is in our food and we both especially enjoy seeing the fruits of our labor or should I say herbs of our labor. In today’s video, I will show how we like to preserve our basil aside from using a food dehydrator. Basil is an herb that lends its flavor and aroma amazingly in many dishes especially in spaghetti sauce! However, Basil will wilt very quickly so I wanted to share a great way to preserve basil is in the video I have posted below!
