Recently, Jason and I had the excitement of purchasing a brand new Kitchenaid for our home. If you previously viewed the video we uploaded to our facebook page at Brewing Wisdom, you heard us mention about the site Crowdtap. Crowdtap is such an awesome website and today I am going to do a walk thru to help you better understand the site and what benefits you can gain from it.
When I first started Crowdtap I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was just poking around the internet trying to find legitimate sites that would pay you to do surveys or receive freebies for your home. I wanted to do this for a little extra spending money for our home. I read up on Crowdtap and all the reviews it had and I was very pleased with what I was reading. So without further ado, I decided to give it a shot and see how far it would go. Most of the survey sites I have tried before I quickly became bored with and realized it was a waste of time. After so many surveys that said “DQ” (disqualified), I was very discouraged and didn’t feel like wasting any more of my time.
With Crowdtap it was so different. I signed up as the page instructed and began my journey! On a side note, before signing up for any survey or freebie site, (as mentioned in my previous blog) always be sure to create a new email account specifically for this purpose. Otherwise, you will be hounded with spam emails in your main email account (experience talking here). So, after signing up I immediately began to receive polls and what are called missions to receive my points. These missions are based off of the name brand groups of products known as Crowds.
There are five categories to earn points which are Poll, Media, Photo, Discussion, and Sample Mission.
Poll– Each poll you complete takes about 5 seconds (or less) to complete. You select the answer you feel is appropriate and you receive two points for your answer.
Media- This is where you share your opinion with others using to either your Twitter, Instagram or Facebook account. I did not feel like annoying my family/friends by sharing every opinion post on my personal Facebook page, so I decided to create a Twitter and Instagram account that is specifically meant for these purposes. They too are free to sign up and easy to learn. If you can learn Facebook, the other two are a breeze to learn as well. You will earn 20 points for each Media mission completed.
Photo Mission- Each photo submission is worth 20 points and sometimes more if you submit an image that lines up with the description they are asking. You may be asked to upload a photo in relation to something from the product you will be sampling or in relation to the brand. The better quality photo, the more successful you will be.
Discussion– Every once in awhile you will be selected to participate in a moderate discussion based on the answers you provided in the polls. If you are qualified for a discussion you will answer questions based on your own opinion. Each response is worth 20 points. You can receive several points for these discussions.
Sample Mission– These are my favorite! Sample missions are when you are selected to sample a product and review it after you have applied. Once your application is approved you will receive the sample in the mail (many times I have received Full size samples, as shown in image below). You will then answer the questions Crowdtap wants to know about your opinion on the product. The product is then yours to keep! You will receive 100 or more points for completing these missions.
So what is the goal? The goal is to reach 1000 points on your account’s point tracker. Once you reach 1000 points you will receive a Crowdtap Reward which is a $5 gift card for Amazon. Now you may thinking, this is a lot to do for just a $5 gift card. I thought the same thing at first as well, until I started to receive really awesome products to sample and review. I have a picture of some of those products I have received in previous missions. I am a busy person, so I find the best time to do these missions are in the early mornings or right before bedtime.
It is up to you what you want to do with your gift cards. You can spend the $5 as soon as you receive it or you can shoot for a goal! My goal was to save for a KitchenAid for our home. I so desperately wanted a KitchenAid for our home to make homemade baking less of a headache…because lets face it, when you are trying to pour ingredients while mixing with a hand mixer it can be a challenge! Especially standing there waiting for the perfect peak to form for your meringues. Last Christmas, Jason and I couldn’t decide what we wanted to do for each other as a Christmas gift. Gifts aren’t the main purpose of Christmas, but being it was our first home we had saved up for something nice for our new home. Jason was telling me how much he loved the Keurig at work and how it would be cheaper making his coffee by using refillable K-Cups. We thought it was a wise investment since we are both daily coffee drinkers. I also received many K-cups and teas free in the mail through the samples I sign up for so its very nice to use them when received.
The Keurig was and still is one of the best purchases we have ever made. Drawn between it and the KitchenAid for our black Friday/Early Christmas gift we chose the Keurig and agreed to make the KitchenAid our goal for next year. However, that plan changed. After discovering Crowdtap, I decided to make that KitchenAid my goal. Since I couldn’t pay off any bills with the gift cards but could only use the money in Amazon Credit I thought what would be a wise purchase. It didn’t take me much thought when the idea of purchasing a KitchenAid through Amazon popped into my mind. It took me 7 months to save up for it and it felt like I would never reach my goal at times. I was tempted to spend when I reached $100 but I fought the temptation! I kept thinking about the money I will be saving for Jason and I by not having to spend hundreds of dollars on a Black Friday sale and the money being saved by doing my own baking to make breads, pizza doughs, cookies and the list goes on!
I can’t express how accomplished I felt after seeing the UPS truck in my driveway and as the UPS worker carried that 30lb package to my door! The day was finally here and my hard work had paid off! I was paid to review items and test them to get a product I’ve been wanting for SO long. Not only did I just get paid for it but I was able to receive SO many awesome FREE products to review and test out as a result of being a faithful member of Crowdtap. Now, I am onto my second goal which I can’t wait to share with you hopefully in November!
I hope you enjoyed this reading and I hope you too would consider joining Crowdtap and giving it a shot! I would love to see some of your goals and achievements and how you made a wise choice for your family!
