Dr. Seuss Wisdom
I have to admit 10 years ago I never thought I would be here writing a blog about being a homemaker. Each day I am learning something about what it takes to make this house into our home.
Dr. Seuss’ birthday just recently passed, and as I was going through reading some of his quotes the one in the image above stuck out to me. I have always been a Dr. Seuss fan. There are so many lessons to learn from his books, and I look forward to the day I can read my books to our children. This quote stuck out to me because in the course of writing our blog, I know there will be many who are going to read something and not agree with what we have to say. Our blog isn’t to tell anyone else how to live their life; it’s simply us telling how we live our lives. We want our blog to be a story of a couple who is trying to figure out life day-by-day just like everyone else. Our blog is to share with you some wisdom we have brewed up just by learning together in our marriage.
We all make our own choices and with each choice, there are consequences. We are not here to judge anyone, but what we are here for is to tell you what didn’t work for us when we made the wrong choice. Just as important, we want to share what we did to make the right choice in our eyes and the benefits we reaped from it. We invite people to leave comments, and encourage healthy discussion. We ask though that all please keep comments respectful otherwise they will not be approved. We appreciate criticism, but if it’s not constructive and only negative it has no place here. They way I always try to live my life when I want to start judging others can be found in Matthew 7:5.
“Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.”
I don’t want to allow myself to become a judgmental person towards anyone regarding anything they’re dealing with because odds are I am dealing with something similar in one way or another. We only want to talk about what we have personally been through and most of the time its judging ourselves for our own mistakes to help others. That is our goal with this blog: to encourage and uplift anyone with wisdom gained in life from the Bible (and even Dr. Seuss books!) We are not here to throw stones. I am looking forward to all the upcoming entries and my husband is as well. The next article I will be posting is going to be about couponing and earning money by working from home. I am so excited to write this blog because I never thought I could be a wife, homemaker and still help with finances while working from home and I can’t wait to share with you my secrets and home living tips to help you and your family. I pray that you find some tips and wisdom here that you can use to apply to your own faith, life, family, and home. If you have questions I would love to answer them!
